WELCOME TO OUR CLUB

The O.C. Ski Club is one of the largest and most active ski clubs in the Northeast. It was established in December of 1960 as a Not for Profit organization. The Club's main objective is to promote skiing within the membership by running organized day, weekend, and week-long ski trips at economical prices.

LEAVE THE DRIVING TO US

Central to the O.C.'s program are the Saturday and Sunday buses, which go to a variety of ski areas in upstate New York and Vermont, enabling members to combine the sport of skiing / boarding with fun and fellowship. Because we bring a group, we receive discounts on lift ticket prices, which will help you stretch your ski dollars. After an exhilarating day of skiing, you can sit back and relax (or dance in the aisles); no more long drives home!

The OC buses offer something for everyone.

  • On Fridays, the weekday bus takes downhill skiers / boarders to the slopes for discount weekday lift tickets.
  • On Saturdays, cross-country skiers head out for a day on the trails, snow shoeing or skating.
  • Happy Hour Saturdays, the OCer's go to Pico/Killington, then to the Wobbly Barn for pizza and dancing.
  • On Sundays, the downhill skiers / boarders head for the slopes.
  • For the advanced skier and boarders, there's the challenge of some of the finest trails anywhere or
Racing as part of the Club race team.
  • For the inexperienced skier and boarders, there are gentler trails and Free ski & boarding instruction which is available to everyone.

The Club consistently skis at top-rated resorts. Day trips to Killington, Mt. Van Hoevenburg, Whiteface, Gore, Bromley, Lapland Lake, Okemo, Garnet Hill, Mt.Snow, Haystack, Mountain Top, Pico and Mad River Glen are among the standard destinations. On weekends, the O.C.'s can be found at places such as Stowe, Jay Peak, Keene Valley, Smuggler's Notch, Jackson N.H., Sugarloaf, Me and Bolton Valley. We range farther a field on our week-long trips, traveling to locales such as Jackson Hole, Whistler B.C., Sunday River, Me, Alta/Snowbird, Zermatt, Switzerland, Val d'Isere, France, Big Sky Montana, Sun Valley, Chamonix France, Chile, Austria, Lake Tahoe and many more.

ACTIVITIES

In addition to skiing and boarding, our year is highlighted by a variety of social functions, such as dances, a Summer Picnic, parties and a Winter Carnival. Throughout the year, sports-minded O.C.er's can participate in volleyball, golf, bicycling, mountain biking, canoeing, rafting, hiking, football and other athletic activities. The O.C.'s don't need much of an excuse to have a good time, so there's a party or dance just about every month of the year. We'll also take cruises on Lake George, camping for a weekend on a river, go wine-tasting and explore local back roads on the road rally. Our monthly newsletter, the "LiftLine", will keep you up to date monthly on upcoming events and our Website will keep you up to date regularly on upcoming events with an optional email list to subscribe to for weekly updates.
